Products Description
Electrode Slitting, also known as electrode strip cutting, refers to the longitudinal cutting of coated wide-width film into multiple narrower strips, which are then rewound into upper and lower single rolls of specified widths. The slitting blades mainly consist of upper and lower circular disc blades mounted on the cutter shaft of the slitting machine. Using the rotary shear principle, materials such as aluminum foil, copper foil, and positive and negative electrode sheets with thicknesses ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 mm are slit.
The quality of the slitting products is primarily influenced by the blade quality, blade angle, and film tension. The slit electrode sheets must not have wrinkles or powder detachment, and high dimensional accuracy is required. Additionally, the burrs on the edges of the electrode sheets must be minimal; otherwise, dendrites may form on the burrs, potentially piercing the separator and causing an internal short circuit in the battery.
Battery Slitting Machine is a production device used to cut lithium-ion battery electrode sheets, polymer battery electrode sheets, nickel-metal hydride battery electrode sheets, and non-ferrous metal plates or coils to the required size specifications under constant tension while ensuring compliance with specific process requirements.
The slitting process demands high dimensional accuracy, and the electrode sheet edges must have minimal burrs; otherwise, dendrites may form, potentially piercing the separator and causing an internal short circuit in the battery. The key performance indicators of slitting equipment include slitting accuracy, machine installation accuracy, and the adjustable range of the cutting dies.
(1) Slitting Accuracy
After slitting, the longitudinal burrs on the electrode sheet should be ≤7μm, and the transverse burrs should be ≤12μm. There should be no delamination or wrinkles at the slit edges, and the geometric dimensional linear tolerance must meet battery process requirements. This mainly refers to the dimensional tolerances, radial runout, and coaxiality of the cutter shaft and slitting blades.
(2) Slitting Machine Assembly Accuracy
After the assembly and debugging of the slitting equipment, the precision of the guide rollers and cutting dies is tested under no-load conditions. Key specifications include:
Surface roughness of guide rollers: Ra = 0.4
Guide roller cylindricity: ≤0.03mm
Total runout of guide rollers after installation: ≤0.05mm
Total runout of the cutting die assembly after installation: ≤10μm
(3) Cutting Die Adjustment Range
The adjustable distance range between the upper and lower blades at the slitting section of the material.
